Postpartum Depression
Most new mothers experience “baby blues,” lasting up to two weeks. However, postpartum depression is more severe and can last up to a year.
Symptoms:
- Severe depression or mood swings
- Withdrawal from social life
- Loss of interest in previous activities
- Anxiety or panic attacks
- Brain fog
- Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
- Excessive crying
- Feelings of being an unfit mother
Treatment:
- Psychotherapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
